Praba Salon is dedicated to beauty services and authentic  products of Asian-Indian influence. An Asian-Indian inspired day spa, Praba offers an array of services including threading, sugaring, waxing, henna tattoos, facials, treatments, massage, and spa packages. No other spa in all of NYC  boasts the variety of both traditional and mainstream services, and at the most reasonable prices.

 

Praba is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘light’ and ‘radiance.’  The name was chosen because it applies to all aspects of beauty. Our philosophy is for clients of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds, to “discover beauty that radiates.”

The salon also features and sells products imported from India, including Indian-inspired costume and sterling silver jewelry, clothing, beaded and leather handbags, cushion covers, and marble jewelry boxes.  Our  products are unique and make excellent gifts for birthdays, holidays, wedding  favors, and corporate events.  If you’re looking for a taste of the far east and crave something unique, this is your place!

WHAT IS THREADING?

 

Threading is a centuries-old technique of hair removal practiced in India, and rapidly growing in popularity across the United States. Being that it is 100%   natural, it is especially recommended for sensitive skin. The beautician removes  individual or rows of unwanted hair by   using string or “thread”, and pulling out the hairs by the follicle.     

It is the most gentle and precise method of hair removal and eyebrow shaping.

 

WHAT IS HENNA?

 

Henna, also a centuries-old tradition in India, is used to create intricate hand art designs. The paste of a ground plant, naturally in a reddish-brown dye, is used to create temporary “tattoos” which last between 1-3 weeks.

Henna can also be used as a natural dye to cover grey hairs and to deep condition non-grey hairs. The process results in stronger, shinier and healthier hair.
